Resident Immersion Program
We are now considering applications for Summer and Fall of 2026
Join Our Community at One Living Sanctuary 🌿✨
Are you ready to fully align your daily life with a mission of compassion?
One Living Sanctuary is inviting applications for our Resident Immersion Program.
This is more than a volunteer role—it is an invitation to live on-site and experience a life centered on animal agency and stewardship.
Join a community where a plant-based lifestyle, kindness, and mutual respect form the foundation of everything we do.
The Program Experience:
Immersive Residency: Live on our peaceful sanctuary grounds and embrace a mindful daily flow. The initial term for the program is 90 days.
Communal Plant-Based Living: Share in regular community vegan meals and connect with a team that shares your commitment to a cruelty-free world.
Hands-On Stewardship: Gain experience in mindful observation and the daily disciplines required to maintain a safe and dignified environment for rescued animals.
We are looking for self-motivated, compassionate individuals who are ready to dive deep into sanctuary life and community harmony
How You Will Contribute:
As a program participant, you will be invited to dive deep into sanctuary life and community harmony. Areas of learning and contribution include:
Assisting with feeding and watering routines for barn and house residents.
Helping with habitat cleaning, enrichment, and special sanctuary projects.
Learning to monitor animal health and behavior, specifically for sick or injured residents.
Participating in and helping guide community work parties.
Maintaining the harmony of shared community spaces and grounds.
Contributing to the community through shared meal prep and keeping personal spaces tidy.
Optional: Contributing photography or video of the residents for social media.
Ideal Participant Qualities:
Deeply passionate about the mission of rescued farmed animals, environmentalism, community and education.
Follows or is transitioning to a Plant-Based Diet (out of respect for our residents, animal products are not permitted on sanctuary grounds).
Strong communication skills, a team-oriented mindset, and a self-motivated spirit.
Able to perform manual tasks outdoors in all weather conditions (ranging from 35°F to 100°F).
Able to lift 40-50 pounds and participate in the physical demands of sanctuary life.
Flexibility to participate in the sanctuary’s daily flow, including some weekends and holidays.
A valid driver’s license is beneficial.
Program Benefits:
The opportunity to build deep relationships with and learn from our 80+ animal residents.
Hands-on experience in sanctuary-level animal care and habitat management.
Connection with a like-minded community of animal advocates.
Programmatic Support: Private sleeping quarters are provided on-site with access to shared community spaces, laundry, and WiFi.
To facilitate our communal lifestyle and ensure 24/7 animal safety, plant-based food is provided for you to prepare, along with shared community meals.
Note: This is a volunteer-based immersion program centered on education and community living. It is not an employment position. Participation is at-will for both the individual and the sanctuary.
