Our Inquisitive Chickens

We have a diverse group of beautiful chickens. We love to watch our fellow animals enjoying life. They spend their days exploring, dust bathing, sun bathing and searching for grubs. Some of them like to follow us humans around and inspect our work! Others prefer to keep their distance from us. They all have unique personalities and their own little cliques within the group. The chickens also enjoy the company of other species of animals at the sanctuary even though most of them are significantly bigger than the chickens.

She was purchased as an emotional support chick, but not allowed by the landlord, so she ended up at the shelter.

They were purchased as chicks from a feed store. Their people then decided they wanted to reduce the size of their flock. These sweet girls didn't even have names and were obese. The people said there were — Rory & Lorelai

Chickens are expert sunbathers! They stretch out their wings to maximize the warmth.
